What is the Jet Pulse  Dust Collector Filter;

Dust collector jet pulse filters consist of ; a baghouse,  bag filter or fabric fitler, suction fun, bag cleaning system an air pollution control device  that removes particulates out of air or gas released from commercial processes generally using in power plants, chemical producers , steel producers, pharmaceutical producers, food manufacturers, and other industrial companies often use baghouses to control emission of air pollutants. Baghouses came into widespread use after the invention of high temperature fabrics capable of withstanding high temperatures.  

Unlike electrostatic precipitators, where performance may vary significantly depending on process and electrical conditions, functioning baghouses typically have a particulate collection efficiency of 99% or better, even when particle size is very small.

Operation of jet pulse dust collection filter

Filtration is a dry method of particulate collection in which an array of many individual targets is Assembled into a porous structure through which aerosol-laden gas is passed. Most dust collector use long, cylindrical bags made of woven or felted fabric as a filter (nonwoven cartridges are sometimes used as filtering media instead of bags) Dust,  gas or air enters the baghouse through hoppers  and is directed into the fitler house compartment. The gas is drawn through the bags, either on the inside or the outside depending on cleaning method, and a layer of dust accumulates on the filter media surface until air can no longer move through it. When sufficient pressure drop occurs, the cleaning process begins. Cleaning can take place while the baghouse is running (filtering) or is not (in isolation). When the compartment is clean, normal filtering resumes.

Filter house or dust collector housing are very efficient particulate collectors because of the dust cake formed on the surface of the bags.

Filter bag house  are classified by the cleaning method used. The three most common types of baghouses are mechanical shakers, reverse gas, and pulse jet.  TeknoFilter using pulse jet. Pulse jet filters are continuous self-cleaning units. A high-pressure blast of clean, dry compressed air is injected into each filter element at periodic intervals. This air is stored in a reservoir called a headers several purge pipes are attached to the header, several filter elements or filter bags are cleaned by one purge pipe.

TeknoFilter jet pulse filter, individual bags are supported by a metal cage which is fastened onto a cell plate at the top of the baghouse. Dirty gas enters from the bottom of the baghouse and flows from outside to inside the bags. The metal cage prevents collapse of the bag.

Jet pulse filter bags are cleaned by a short burst of compressed air injected compressed air is accelerated by a venturi nozzle mounted at the revers  jet baghouse top of the bag. Since the duration of the compressed air burst is short (0.1s-0.2s), it acts as a rapidly moving air bubble, traveling through the entire length of the bag and causing the bag surfaces to shaking. This shaking of the bags breaks the dust , and the disllocate dust falls into a storage hopper below.

This cleaning system works with the help of timer attached to the dust collector filters,  this timer indicates the solenoid  valve to inject the air to the blow pipe.

Baghouse performance is contingent upon inlet and outlet gas temperature, pressure drop, opacity, and gas velocity. Gas Temperature, all fabrics are designed to operate within a certain range of temperature these limits even for a small period of time, can weaken, damage, or ruin the bags.

Fabric filter bags  are oval or round tubes, typically  90-200mm in diameter, made of woven or nowoven material.

TeknoFilter Pulse jet filters provide a mechanically simple, efficient, and economical means to separate particulate from a gas stream. The absolute minimum of moving parts enhances the efficiency anddurability of the system.

Moisture is one of the most predominant causes for fabric filter failures. Care must be taken in applications involving high humidity gas streams. Dryers and other combustion processes pose the greatest danger for condensation in the filter. The filters and gas stream temperatures must be maintained at 10  °C celcius above the dew point of the gas stream. Excursions near or below the dew point of the gas stream will result in condensation of the gas on the baghouse and filter media. This moisture will change the desired dust cake into an undesirable mud cake, which is difficult to remove and may permanently damage the filter media. Corrosion is also intensified under these conditions. Filters operating under high humidity conditions at any temperature should be protected from gas condensation. This will require heating the filter to 10  °C above the gas stream temperature and insulation of the filter and ducting. Failure to take these precautions will result in unsatisfactory performance of the equipment and possible catastrophic failure of the filter media.
